Canada Day - Yes, Summer posts in November. :)

Canada was full of fun events this year. We started out the day with some community celebration in a nearby park. Elijah especially liked the firetruck, where as Yumi and Charlotte enjoyed the face painting.

Yehyeh got tired after the walk and took a rest in the wagon. :) Elijah played with the diggers and Charlotte played with the new ribbon wand that she was given.

Yumi and Elijah also posed for a nice picture. Charlotte wasn't interested. :)

Later on that day we enjoyed a backyard BBQ with our friends Peter and Val. They invited us to come over early and go on a "little" hike near their house. Well, what's little for them turned out to be over an hour long hike on interesting terrain with the kids. However, we made it all the way in good spirits and I was amazed at how well Charlotte did! Quite the troopers, our kids!

Pumpkin Patch!

We were invited to experience the Pumpkin Patch this year with Yumi. We hadn't gone before but were assured it would be lots of fun for all. The weather cooperated beautifully and despite the half hour line up to get in, we really did enjoy ourselves. Here are the pictures!

Twinkle Twinkle

This is Charlotte's current favorite. She's getting quite good at it so I wanted to share it.

Missed a birthday post - Charlotte turned 2 on June 10th!

Yup, I missed saying anything about Charlotte's birthday so here it is now. She turned 2 and at the same time, she became a "two-year old". Yes, she's started telling us exactly what she wants and what she doesn't want. "NO" is the most dominant word in her vocabulary. And yet, she's still our cute little Ms. Mousy!

Kindergarten!!

Well, I've missed a lot of events on here over the past 6 months, but right now it's all about Elijah starting school. It's a gradual entry program that's been going on for the past week. However, tomorrow is the last half day and then he's on to a full day (9-3) schedule for the rest of the year! We're amazed that our little boy is growing up so quickly. He's excited to start and we're hoping that excitement lasts. Here are some shots of him on the way to school the first day.

The weekend before school started, we walked over to the school and played at the playground for a while too. I was hoping this would help him feel comfortable with the school. I think it worked. :) He and Charlotte had fun, if nothing else.

Family reunion

I'm sure Erin is going to have things to add, but August has been a busy month for us so far, with a trip to a Decelles family reunion (Grandma's side) over the long weekend. So I decided to post a few teasers.

Here are the "little angels" on our plane ride on WestJet. I must say, WestJet is very very family friendly.

Charlotte cooperated by having a nap on the way in....

but Elijah was very excited to see his Grandma and telling about everything he saw while on the mostly straight highway.

The first night there and the kids and Grandma enjoying large screen projection movies. The reunion has gone all high tech since everyone had digital cameras, 3G coverage for the iphones/blackberries, etc.

More later.
