While up in Vernon for Christmas we went skiing with the kids. Too much fun. They all did really well. Here is Elijah, loving the hill they were practicing on.

Charlotte's hair cut
When Charlotte was born she had a lot of hair. She never really lost it either, so now that she's over a year old, it was really long. And whispy. And needed to be cut. Now, I'm a fan of long hair but even I had to admit it needed to be done. So, finally I did it. I was worried. With Elijah, I don't mind cutting his hair since it's just going to be all one length, essentially, and it never looks too bad. With a girl it's a different story. I'd done her bangs once before but this was the back. I figured I'd make it as quick as possible. I gathered it all into a pony tail and cut the tail off. Then I trimmed it to what looked like all the same length at the back. This was all done very quickly, in the bath, with her moving around a lot. In the end, I think it turned out ok. Not that I'll try again any time soon, but it worked this time.
Charlotte's outfits and Elijah aka Spiderman
I try really hard not to be biased when taking pictures of my kids or interacting with them. However, the simple truth is that Charlotte is a girl - and I like dressing her up! She's inherited soooo much clothes that it's always fun putting on new things to see how it looks. So, I realized that I have a whole bunch of pictures of her in cute outfits. I figured I might as well dedicate part of a post to it. :)
The first outfit was given to me by my sister. It's an outfit I bought her daughter and she saved it for me. Too cute.
The second outfit is her first "jean" ensemble. It is super cute as well but boy, this girl can not wear jeans!! Her belly is too big. I put them on and she can't move properly. She only waddles around stiff legged and when she falls down she can't get back up. Ana had a good laugh about that at daycare.
As for Elijah, his wardrobe right now consists mainly of spider man. He only has 1 spider man t-shirt but it's the first shirt he chooses to wear when it's clean. We also went to a birthday party in September that was dress-up. I bought him an early Hallowe'en costume - spider man of course. Given the choice between the $35 official costume with fake muscles and the $20 pyjama set with a hood, like any good (aka cheap-out) mother I chose the reusable pyjama set. He loves it. He's been restricted to wearing the pyjamas to bed only until Hallowe'en but he's allowed to wear the hood around the house. Crazy kid wears it almost all the time.

Around and about in July
Yup, behind in postings again.
We went out and about quite a bit this summer. We've been trying to take the kids out every weekend. I think I mentioned that once or three times. Anyway, here are some pictures from time we spent with family at dinner, with Josh and Avery in the Metrotown mall riding the train on Canada day, around the house, and our trip to Harrison (on Charlotte's 13 monthiversary) to see Dal and Robbin's new "summer cottage".

Pictures by Elijah
Well, it's 9 am on a Saturday morning and everyone else is asleep. What?!?!? I know, very rare. I thought I'd try and do a post or two. Likely I'll have to finish later, but at least I can get started.
Due to the kitchen reno, we've been eating at Yehyeh and Goo Mah's place a lot lately. One day I was getting some video of Charlotte walking and Elijah decided to take some pictures too. Here are some of his shots!
(Oops, and now he's up!!)
Ok, finally finishing this now, at 4pm. :D

Some lost pictures and some videos
Madeleine!
Tomorrow is Madeleine's first birthday!! Madeleine is my friend Jen's little daughter. They live in Scotland but come to visit often. They were here to visit in May and I didn't get around to posting any pictures from our day out at Granville Island together. In honor of Maddie's birthday I figure now is a good time!
Maddie, I hope you and your family have a wonderful day celebrating tomorrow!!
Charlotte's Birthday!
The other thing that happened recently is that Charlotte turned 1!!! June 10th of course! It's gone so fast. In the last month she's really made the transition from baby to little person. It's very fascinating for me to watch. She's walking several steps at a time, nodding, waving, giving kisses, dancing, singing, reacting to "no" with a big pout and tears and becoming better able to communicate. She like putting things in and out of containers, following her big brother around and eating big people food. She eats more than her brother!!
Here are some pictures from her birthday, around the house and dinner with Yehyeh and Goo Ma.
There's another one here as well.
