Well, August is halfway over and so far we haven't been traumatized by not having Elijah in daycare. I thought it would be a lot worse than it has been, but I guess the month isn't over yet, so I shouldn't be too bold in my statements. Here are some more pictures from our day-to-day activities. We go to lots of parks with water at them since Elijah loves them. These water pictures were taken August 12th, after our 2 month doctor appointment for Charlotte. (In case you are wondering, she is off the charts for weight and 97th percentile for height. Quite the big girl. And her 2 month shots went fine.) We also went and had a play date with Josh, whom we haven't seen in months. The boys behaved very well and played together just fine until it got close to lunch time. Then they got a little cranky and there were some flaring tempers... I'd say the play date was with Avery too, but the girls are a little young to care. :) The pictures of Charlotte are just to show her typical sleeping pose, playing with the animals on her mat and the new swing, a gift from Gary's family, that I'm hoping will be an acceptable substitute for me rocking her to sleep, which takes up a huge chunk of my time.

Today she's 2 months old!!
Yes, time passes quickly. Charlotte is 2 months old today. She's grown fast! She's a good eater, generally a good sleeper (although, not last night or today!), holds her head up quite well and loves to smile and talk a lot. I took a couple pictures of her today, to mark the occassion. The hat she's wearing in them is from Kelly (thanks!), who made it for her and brought it over on Saturday when they came for dinner (no pictures AGAIN! oops!). I also took a picture of Elijah today, wearing his first pair of jeans. We've had them for quite some time and now they finally almost fit. They look pretty good from the front, but the waist is still pretty loose at the back! Anyway, here are the kids. :)
This and That and Papa's birthday
Unfortunately, Gary was away for his birthday, on business. So, when he got home, we had a birthday dinner for him with family. I shot a couple of candid shots so sorry people, if you were caught in a bad moment. :) Gary brought some gifts home with him, including an outfit for Charlotte that came with a headband. I tried it on her and it looked really cute so I got some shots of that. And also, here is a shot of Elijah playing in his sandbox, in the shade one day.
Time with Aunty Helen
Last week Helen had some time off work so she offered to come and spend time with us. It was lots of fun for Elijah and hopefully for her too. It was also really nice to have someone along to help, so thanks Aunty Helen. Wednesday we headed down to Granville Island. I had some specific shopping to do and I thought it'd be fun to hang out there for a while. I brought along an extra set of clothes for Elijah in case he wanted to use the water park. Good thing too, since it got really nice after lunch and was perfect for the water. Thursday we went to Brentwood mall. I didn't get as many pictures there, but did get one of Elijah riding the helicopter. Kelly and Theoren met us there but didn't get any pictures of them. Ooops!

Fun in the sun
Well, as anyone in the lower mainland knows, it's been hot lately. We've been hanging out in parks as much as possible, in the mornings, to beat the heat. Our friends Rowan and Harriet invited us out to Ron McLean park last week, to hang with them. Off we trouped. Turned out to be a really cool place. In the morning the playground is in the shade, and as the day progresses, the kiddie pool gets covered with shade. A perfect place to hang out. So, Charlotte and I hung out on the pool deck in the shade and Elijah was in the pool for a long time. He had great fun. We brought the bucket and shovel and he loved it. Here's a shot of him.
We also have been hanging out on our deck a lot in the evenings. The other night, she was hanging with Papa and the sun hit her hair just right to highlight it all. I took a couple shots and although none of them really captured the light the way I saw it, this one looks pretty good.
Charlotte smiles
She's actually been smiling for some time now, but I hadn't been able to catch a picture of it. So, I tried video. It took me a few tries. The first one ended up being a spit up shot, the next one had no smiles, etc., etc. So, this one has a smile. And a little bit of cooing from her, which she is also doing a lot of. Very cute. :)
